JASOORA · PRIVACY & DATA

Privacy Policy

Jasoora is a platform for reading and writing novels, short stories and visual stories. This policy explains the data used to run the app, what others can see, and the choices available to you.

Effective: 7 October 2026 · Last updated: 25 October 2026

1. Who handles your data?

This policy covers the Jasoora app and related services operated by the publisher Jasoora. You can contact us about your data or this policy at basmajk79@gmail.com.

2. Data the app uses

  • Account: email address, username, display name and sign-in information. Password registration sends credentials to Supabase authentication. If you choose Google sign-in, we use the account information it makes available, such as email, name and picture, and the authentication tokens needed to sign in. We do not ask for your Google password.
  • Profile and content: avatar, biography, novels, chapters, stories and uploaded images, comments, reviews and follows.
  • Reading and library: saved works, favourites, reading position, progress, completion and reading interactions, used for reading continuity and work statistics.
  • Notifications: notification preferences, device push token, platform and app language, used to deliver account-related notifications.
  • On-device storage: sign-in session, a profile copy, settings, local drafts, downloaded content, cached images, reading progress and pending synchronization operations.
  • Technical and advertising data: infrastructure and advertising providers may process IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers, interactions and diagnostics as described below.

3. Why we use data

Data supports account creation, secure sign-in and recovery, reading and publishing content, syncing your library and reading progress, offline work, comments, reviews, follows and supported notifications. Reading events also support read and completion statistics, including work statistics shown to authors.

Advertising services use the data necessary to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. Using the app does not automatically mean consenting to personalized advertising. Available choices depend on consent settings, region and applicable rules.

4. What other people can see

Your display name, username, avatar and biography may appear with your public profile, published works, comments and reviews. People you follow or interact with may receive notifications containing your name and information about that interaction. Uploaded profile and content images may be accessible through public URLs.

Do not place sensitive information or other people’s personal data in posts, comments or images. The app’s profile interfaces do not display your sign-in email as a public profile field.

5. Services that process data

  • Supabase: authentication, database, image and content storage, and backend services.
  • Google Sign-In: signing in with Google when you choose it.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: notification delivery using installation identifiers, device tokens and message data. Disabling notification display in the phone settings does not necessarily stop token creation or registration.
  • Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform: advertising and consent messages and privacy choices where applicable.
  • Image and font delivery: the app requests images from their URLs and may download Google fonts at runtime if they are not locally cached. Resource providers receive technical request information such as IP addresses.

Processing may occur outside your country, depending on provider infrastructure. These services handle data under their policies and the configurations applied to the service.

6. Advertising and privacy choices

Jasoora uses Google AdMob for banners and ads between some chapters. The SDK may collect and share IP addresses, which can estimate general location; identifiers such as advertising and app-set IDs; app and ad interactions; and performance and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. The app does not request GPS location permission for this purpose.

A consent message may appear depending on your region and the service configuration. The app requests ads when the permission state returned by the SDK allows it; that permission is not by itself consent to personalization. When the service requires privacy options to be available, you can open them from the app settings and review your choices. You can also use your device’s privacy and advertising settings.

Non-personalized advertising does not necessarily mean no data processing or no local storage needed for delivery and security.

7. Your choices and device permissions

  • You can edit your profile and manage content and interactions where the relevant controls are provided.
  • You can change notification preferences in the app and disable notification display in your phone settings.
  • The image picker uses your photo library when you choose to upload profile or content images. We do not request contact-list or microphone access for reading and writing features.
  • You can remove downloads using the available library controls. Clearing app data through the operating system can also remove local drafts and unsynced content.

Signing out does not delete your account. Account data remains on the server, and downloads, drafts and reading progress may remain on the device within that user’s local storage.

8. Retention and account deletion

We retain account data, content and progress while your account exists and as needed to provide the service. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not automatically erase this data.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, email basmajk79@gmail.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject “Jasoora account deletion request” and your username. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes. See account-deletion instructions.

Requests are reviewed manually to verify account ownership and identify associated data. Sending an email does not perform an immediate deletion. An account-deletion request covers the profile, library, progress, content, interactions and associated files. When handling your request, we will explain the deletion scope and any data that needs to be retained, why, and for how long.

Limited data may need to be kept for legal obligations, security or disputes, and backup copies may remain until the provider’s retention cycle ends. There is no single deletion period for all data types and copies. Server-side deletion does not erase copies on your device; use download controls or clear app data after saving any drafts you need.

9. Security and your rights

We use account authentication, database and storage access controls, and secure connections where supported by the services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not describe on-device storage as end-to-end encrypted.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your data, object to processing or withdraw consent. Send requests to basmajk79@gmail.com. We may request limited information to verify account ownership before handling account data; do not send passwords or verification codes.

10. Age and children

Jasoora is intended for people aged 13 and over, not children under 13. You must also meet any parental-consent or minimum-age requirements applicable in your country.

Registration does not currently verify age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact basmajk79@gmail.com to request review of the account and deletion of the relevant data.

11. Updates and this website

We may update this policy when our data practices or services change. We will publish the revised version here and change its last-updated date. Please check this page for the current text.
